A Piece of Sky

18 February, 2005 - 8:06 am

I can’t get over the colors of the sky.

At daybreak the horizon is a hot, almost neon, pink that glows through the trees on the ridge.

Tuesday morning there were bands of deep liquid blue and fluffy white clouds.

At sunset the sky to the South glows tangerine. And the western sky turns lavender.

When it snows the white snow on the barn roof it a stark contrast to the slate gray of the storm.

Sometimes the sky here is so unimaginably blue – it makes my heart do a little flip.
