CrossRoads Farm

Superbowl Post

08 February, 2005 - 2:33 pm

It’s a dreary mud season day here at CrossRoads and I haven’t done my Superbowl Post yet so here it is a day late….

We don’t use the “d” word. The press is desperate to use the word “dynasty” when referring to the Patriots. But the players and coaches aren’t interested. Rodney Harrison said, “All I know is we won this game tonight.”

Right. Three Superbowls in four years after the NFL imposed salary caps and free agency just to prevent dynasties. You really have to hand it to Bill Belichick.

Belichick is being compared to the late great Vince Lombardi.

Through it all they remain humble. Tom Brady took time out during the award ceremony Sunday night to point out that they didn’t make a first down in the first quarter. In a later interview when asked if this is a dynasty The Kid said, “I don’t know if I’d use that word yet. It’s only my fourth season.” Coming from him, the statement sounded humble. This is a guy that doesn’t talk trash.

And did you catch those guys Tedy Bruschi, Corey Dillon, and Deion Branch? We have got some great players on this team. And not one of them is a prima donna. Those two guys now play for Buffalo.

We are the champions.
