The First Long Day

Today is H’s first long day at school. I sent her out into the snow with K this morning at 7:20 and I won’t see her again until 3. I can hardly believe it. I’m not sure I know what to do with myself. It's only Monday's but that's ok. The icing on the cake is that today D has a day off. He went to drill in Burlington this weekend so I let him sleep. But it’s nice to have just the two of us at home. I don’t think that has ever happened before.

In another hour or so I’m off to art. D is going to go to Curt’s to repair one of the tires on the jeep. Yes, D finally replaced the red Dakota he has driven since before I knew him with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He picked up a nail or a screw or something along the way and it’s started a slow leak. So our morning is occupied. But we’ll have all afternoon to enjoy….
