Busy Busy

I’m on a brief lunch break from the holiday preparations. So far this morning I’ve made a pancake breakfast, cleaned out the chicken coop, moved 10 days worth of wood to the front porch, trimmed my hair, baked a pecan pie with a homemade crust, made the cranberry relish and lunch for me and the kids. The relish is g’s recipe and since my food processor is broken I used the blender instead…..not the right tool for the job.

I still have plenty to do but I feel, at least for the moment, that I have everything under control. The girls have cleaned the playroom --- to the detriment of the family room – and when they finish their lunch I will send the little conscripts up to their rooms to clean. The rooms won’t be any cleaner but I will have some piece while I’m doing the serious cleaning.

Food wise I still have the mashed potatoes, and two loaves of banana bread to bake. The banana bread is optional. I was going to serve it for breakfast. It’s quick and involves little cleanup. So I’ll see how my day progresses.

Gumby will be arriving tonight. He didn’t tell me exactly when but I am guessing around ten. And Aunt D will be driving up tomorrow morning.

Well, back to work for me.
