I'm Back

20 November, 2004 - 9:24 am

Good Morning, Sports Fans, been a while hasn’t it?? I’ve been amazingly busy lately. I have a term paper I am working on, an exam – I aced it by the way – and just all the little things that go on around here. That and my latest love affair with the Internet has come to a close. All things in my life ebb and flow that way. Painting, embroidery, Tarot cards, computer time. Some times I get obsessed and sometimes….I’m just not. Right now I’m in a place where more than 20-30 minutes on the Internet seems like a colossal waste of my valuable time. But I do still want to blog. Hell we all know I have plenty more to say.

These past two weeks the school has had an artist-in-residence from a Circus Smirkus. I’d never heard of these folks until we started the fund-raising. The artist came in everyday and worked with the kids and at the end of the two weeks the children put on a performance. I must admit – it sounded like one of those fifth level of hell interminable school assemblies. But it wasn’t. We have some amazingly talented young people at our school and it was wonderful to see them all perform and the very best thing was that if they didn’t get it right the first time they just tried again. H showed us how to spin a plate on a stick and K demonstrated the Amazing Floating Pencil.

Today is H’s Birthday party. Here at my house. She wants a train cake. Not a cake in the shape of a train like I would normally do. No, she wants a picture of a train on her cake. Only slightly more problematic because I’ll be mixing frosting colors all morning. She’s allowed to have 6 kids because she’s turning 6. So far I have 4 who are sure they will be here. Three boys and one girl. She’s a tom-boy, my H is. D is smart. He’s escaping. He builds and sells Adirondack chairs and he has two orders for two chairs each to be done for Christmas presents. So he’s going to go work on those.
